Rich Homie Quan gained widespread recognition with his breakout single “Type of Way” in 2013. His melodic rap style, which blended fresh and unique elements, stood out during his rise to mainstream fame. His 2015 hit “Flex (Ooh, Ooh, Ooh)” also garnered significant popularity, with its accompanying dance inspiring iLoveMemphis’ 2016 track “Hit the Quan.”

One of the key moments in Quan’s career was his collaboration with Young Thug and Birdman in the group Rich Gang. Their hit single “Lifestyle” became a classic in the genre, cementing Quan’s influence in hip-hop. Although Quan and Thug eventually went their separate ways, Quan continued to express support for Thug, particularly following Thug’s legal issues, including his arrest under Georgia’s RICO Act.

While some reports suggest Quan may have died from an overdose, no official cause of death has been confirmed.
