Mike Tyson doesn’t care if health is risked to fight Jake Paul in November
Boxing legend Mike Tyson has confirmed his readiness to fight YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul on November 15, despite concerns about his health. The highly anticipated bout was initially scheduled for July but was postponed due to Tyson suffering from an ulcer flare-up. The 57-year-old, who has been dealing with sciatica and at times requires a walking stick, is determined to go ahead with the fight.
In a recent interview with FOX40 News, Tyson expressed his excitement about returning to the ring, saying, "I'm just looking forward to this. This is something that ignites me. It just gives me life for myself." He emphasized that the decision to fight was his alone, adding, "Forget what my wife and kids are, like, thinking about just this one moment. Don't worry about me. That's all."
Despite his last professional fight being in 2005, Tyson returned to the ring for an exhibition match against Roy Jones Jr. in 2020. However, taking on Jake Paul, who is younger and more active in the sport, has raised questions about the risks involved. Tyson admitted, "I'm always going to test myself. I'm always gonna push the envelope."
Jake Paul, meanwhile, expressed no concerns over Tyson's health, stating that the fight is going ahead as planned.
