Giuliano Pirone dies after being left unconscious for over 15 hours in a gym shower

Perth bodybuilder Giuliano Pirone has tragically passed away after spending two weeks on life support following a brain injury he sustained in a 24-hour gym. Pirone, 33, was training for a bodybuilding competition when he collapsed in a locked shower cubicle at a gym in Wanneroo on August 20. He remained undiscovered for more than 15 hours until police located him after his mother reported him missing.

His mother, Daniela Pirone, expressed her grief to ABC Radio Perth, saying, "I will never look at the Sun, the Moon and the sky the same way again, the light that shone bright has left me." Pirone was rushed to Joondalup hospital but never regained consciousness, with an MRI revealing he had lost brain function. Doctors believe low blood sugar levels and a possible seizure may have contributed to his collapse.

Ms. Pirone has called for tighter regulations at 24-hour gyms, suggesting a check-in system to monitor patrons' safety. The Western Australian Police are reviewing CCTV footage, and a report is being prepared for the coroner.
