Halsey has officially announced the release date of her highly anticipated album The Great Impersonator, set to drop on October 25. The album, a concept project, imagines what Halsey’s music might have sounded like if she had been making it in different decades, specifically the ’70s, ’80s, ’90s, and early 2000s. Halsey described the album on Instagram, stating, “I made this record in the space between life and death. And it feels like I’ve waited an eternity for you to have it.”

The album cover, which Halsey also revealed, features a close-up of her face in a yellow-tinted style with heavy makeup and blush. The title is written on a yellow star, accompanied by a message that describes the album’s theme of transformation and identity. The message warns, “She is the queen of the uncanny, the mistress of metamorphosis. Beware of The Great Impersonator.”

The album is available for preorder, and special vinyl editions are also available, each representing a different decade that Halsey embodies in the project. Fans were introduced to the album cover through an elaborate scavenger hunt, where Halsey hid “time capsules” from five decades in major cities like New York, LA, London, Sydney, and Toronto.
