Gang extracts kidney of labourer

The operatives of an organised gang have extracted the kidney of a kiln labourer after taking him to Rawalpindi.

According to local sources, the organ traders had taken the labourer to Manga Mandi on the pretext of employment and drugged him before transporting him in an unconscious state to Rawalpindi.

The gang had taken away the labourer a fortnight ago. Its members left then victim near his home after the surgery and escaped.

The condition of the victim is stated to be critical. The victim, identified as, Ahsan, a resident of Sulaiman Town near Burewala, was taken to Manga Mandi by the members of the gang from his house on the pretext of employment.

They took the unconscious man from there to an unknown place in Rawalpindi and removed his kidney. A few days later, they dumped him unconscious near his house and escaped.

The victim's family reported the incident at the Model Town police station.

The sources said the local officials had refused to take action and told the family to cantact the police in Manga Mandi. Due to the lack of transport fare, the poor family could not go to Managa Mandi. As Ahsan's condition worsened, a neighbour called the police helpline 15.

However, the police contended that the case could be registered in Lahore. On the other hand, the administration of a hospital said a police report was needed before medical assistance could be provided to the victim.
