Elopement ends in woman's murder

A woman who had got married after leaving her home was shot dead by her husband.

According to the local residents, 22-year-old Rabia Noreen, a resident of Batala, had eloped with Saqlain alias Puma, a resident of Bawa Chak, on April 15 and the couple had married.

A case had been registered against the suspect over the incident in the Batala Colony police station.

On Wednesday afternoon, the suspect stopped his motorcycle while travelling with his wife and shot her thrice in the head and abdomen near Chak 120JB. The victim died on the spot.
