Katy Perry addressed the criticism over her decision to collaborate with Dr. Luke on her latest album during a recent appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast. Perry acknowledged that working with Dr. Luke, who has faced accusations of abuse from Kesha, has sparked public debate. However, she emphasized that Dr. Luke was just one of many collaborators and that her songs reflect her personal experiences. "The reality is, it comes from me. The truth is, I wrote these songs from my experience of my whole life going through this metamorphosis, and he was one of the people to help facilitate all that."

Speaking specifically about the track Woman’s World, Perry explained that the song reflects her empowerment as a mother and a woman, stating, "I speak about feeling so empowered now, as a mother, as a woman, giving birth, creating life, creating another set of organs. A brain! A heart! I created a whole ass heart! And I did it, and I’m still doing it. I’m still a matriarch and feeling really grounded in that."

Despite the ongoing backlash, Perry has continued to defend her choice to work with Dr. Luke, reiterating that her collaborations stem from her own experiences and that she has previously worked with several collaborators from her Teenage Dream era
