Gun-rights activist Paul Harrell dies at 58
Paul Harrell, a prominent gun-rights activist and firearms YouTuber, passed away on Tuesday, September 3, after a prolonged battle with pancreatic cancer.
He was 58 years old. The news of his demise was announced by his attorney, Tom Grieve, on X, formerly Twitter. Harrell had garnered a large following, with over a million subscribers on his YouTube channel, where he shared in-depth firearms information.
I just learned and was given permission to share that Paul has passed. A true lion of men, a paragon of integrity, the gun dad of the internet, and a role model for us all. Harrell's diagnosis of Stage 2 pancreatic cancer was made public in July 2023, at which point he optimistically expressed hopes of continuing his work.
His health deteriorated, however, and his brother posted a video recently indicating that Harrell’s time was nearing its end. In January 2024, Harrell handed over control of his YouTube channel to his brother Roy, continuing to engage with his audience until his final days.
Following his death, fans and supporters have taken to social media to honor his contributions to the firearms community.
