Elton John almost blind in one eye after severe infection
Sir Elton John has revealed that he now has "only limited vision" in one eye due to a "severe" infection.
The 77-year-old music icon explained that while he is recovering from the infection, the healing process will take time.
"Over the summer, I've been dealing with a severe eye infection that has unfortunately left me with only limited vision in one eye," he wrote on Instagram.
"I am healing, but it's an extremely slow process and it will take some time before sight returns to the impacted eye."
He expressed gratitude for the medical team and his family, saying, "I am so grateful for the excellent team of doctors and nurses and my family, who have taken such good care of me."
Many celebrities have been offering their well-wishes.
Fashion designer Donatella Versace commented: "Sending you so much love Elton! Feel better soon. Love you."
Tennis icon Billie Jean King also offered her support: "Sending our love and support your way. Feel better soon, friend."
Sir Elton, famous for hits like Your Song, Rocket Man, and I'm Still Standing, has sold over 300 million records worldwide.
Last year, he performed his final UK show as part of his farewell tour to a crowd of around 120,000 people at Glastonbury.
