The inclusion of transgender sprinter Valentina Petrillo in the Paris Paralympics has ignited a debate on fairness in sports. J.K. Rowling, along with former female athletes Martina Navratilova and Sharron Davies, have voiced their criticism, highlighting the biological advantages of male-bodied athletes.

Petrillo, who previously competed as a male, qualified for the women's T12 400m semi-finals, sparking Rowling's condemnation of her as a "cheat." The Harry Potter author also drew parallels to the case of Algerian boxer Imane Khelif, who won gold despite previous disqualification due to "male karyotype" chromosomes.
