Sony pulls ‘Concord’ game offline after poor sales and low engagement
Sony is pulling its latest PlayStation game, 'Concord', offline on September 6th, following disappointing sales and player engagement.
Launched on August 23rd exclusively for PS5 and PC, 'Concord' struggled to gain traction, selling fewer than 25,000 copies and reaching a peak of only 697 players on Steam—significantly lower than even 'The Lord of the Rings: Gollum', considered one of the worst games of 2023.
'Concord' Game Director Ryan Ellis announced the decision in a PlayStation blog post, stating that the game will be taken offline as the team explores options to better engage players. Effective immediately, sales of the game have ceased, and Sony will issue full refunds to all purchasers.

Refunds for PS5 purchases will be processed back to the original payment method, while Steam and Epic Games Store users can expect refunds in the coming days.
Developed over eight years and launched as a $40 game, 'Concord' faced stiff competition from popular free-to-play titles like 'Overwatch' and 'Valorant'. The game’s failure to stand out in the crowded hero shooter genre has led to speculation that it may return as a free-to-play title in the future.
