Jenna Ortega has entered the long-standing Blur versus Oasis debate following the announcement of a major reunion tour by the Gallagher brothers.

Last week, Noel and Liam Gallagher confirmed they would be reuniting as Oasis for a series of summer stadium concerts across the UK and beyond.

Tickets for the highly anticipated shows went on sale on August 31, with fans facing technical issues and dynamic pricing before every date sold out within hours.

Ortega, however, only learned of the reunion during a sit-down interview with NME, where she was promoting her upcoming film, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.

"I had no idea they were back," she admitted before asking her co-star Catherine O’Hara for her thoughts on the enduring Blur and Oasis rivalry.

O’Hara responded, "I don’t partake in taking sides," prompting Ortega to share her own stance. "Can I be honest? I actually just heard ‘Wonderwall’ for the first time a month ago," Ortega confessed.

"I actually sat down and listened to the whole thing. It was a whole thing that I got attacked for not knowing about it by an ex. I listen to Blur. I haven’t really gotten into Oasis." Ortega ultimately chose Blur, adding, "I don’t really have a history with Oasis and Oasis listening to really say."

The Blur vs. Oasis rivalry dates back to 1995 when the two Britpop giants went head-to-head in a chart battle.

Blur’s "Country House" edged out Oasis’s "Roll With It" for the Number 1 spot in the UK Singles Chart, though many consider Oasis to have won the overall Britpop war. Despite this rivalry, Noel Gallagher and Blur's Damon Albarn have collaborated in recent years, notably on Gorillaz’s 2017 track "We Got The Power."

In other news, Ortega has teamed up with Sabrina Carpenter for the music video for "Taste," a track from Carpenter’s latest album Short N’ Sweet. Coincidentally, Oasis and Carpenter find themselves in another chart battle this week. Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is set to hit cinemas on September 6.
