Grammy-winning singer Maren Morris is reportedly dating Netflix reality star Justin Assada, according to a source who confirmed the relationship to PEOPLE. This marks Morris's first public relationship since her divorce from Ryan Hurd in January 2024, after nearly six years of marriage.

Speculation about the new romance began on August 28, 2024, when Assada, 27, shared a photo on his Instagram Story of Morris, 34, enjoying a meal at an upscale restaurant. The image, captioned “Scary movies + Sushi 😫,” fueled rumors that the two were romantically involved. Representatives for both Morris and Assada did not respond to PEOPLE's requests for comment.

Assada gained fame through his appearances on Netflix’s Surviving Paradise in 2023 and the second season of the dating series Perfect Match, which aired earlier this year. In a July 2024 interview on Harry Jowsey’s Boyfriend Material podcast, Assada hinted at his newfound dating opportunities since moving to Los Angeles from Massachusetts. "I went from bottom of the barrel Hinge dates in Boston... to going on a pretty crazy date Thursday with someone that’s like, it blows my mind," he shared, though he did not name Morris at the time.

Morris, who has openly discussed her experiences with dating post-divorce, told PEOPLE last month that she is “really, really happy” and would only consider dating someone who could add value to her life. “They can't drain my resources, and I mean that in every sense of the word.
