Yograj Singh criticises MS Dhoni once again
Yograj Singh, former Indian cricketer and father of Yuvraj Singh, has stirred up controversy once again by launching a scathing critique of India's cricket legends Kapil Dev and MS Dhoni.
In a recent interview with an Indian channel, Yograj expressed his frustration towards Kapil Dev, India's 1983 World Cup-winning captain, asserting that Dev's singular achievement pales in comparison to Yuvraj Singh's career accomplishments.
"The greatest captain of our time, Kapil Dev... I told him, I'll leave you in a position where the world would curse you. Today, Yuvraj Singh has 13 trophies, and you have only one, the World Cup. End of discussion," Yograj stated.
This sharp criticism of Kapil Dev has raised eyebrows, particularly due to Yograj's history of making controversial statements about other cricketing icons.
His latest remarks add to the ongoing friction between him and MS Dhoni, another World Cup-winning captain, whom Yograj has repeatedly accused of sabotaging his son's career.
In his previous statements, Yograj expressed deep resentment towards Dhoni, stating, "I will never forgive Dhoni in my life. He should look at himself in the mirror.
He is a great cricketer, but what he did against my son can never be forgiven. Everything is coming to light now."
Yograj Singh, who played 1 Test and 6 ODIs for India as a fast bowler, has been a vocal figure in Indian cricket, often making headlines for his outspoken views.
His son, Yuvraj Singh, played a pivotal role in India's 2011 ODI World Cup victory and was named Player of the Tournament for his outstanding performances.
Yograj's comments have ignited a fresh wave of debate within the cricketing community, particularly in light of the respect both Kapil Dev and MS Dhoni command in Indian cricket.
The former cricketer's ongoing grievances have once again put the spotlight on his strained relationship with the legends of the game.
