James Gunn and his expanding DC Universe are not slowing down, even on Labor Day. As Gunn, alongside DC Studios co-head Peter Safran, continues to oversee the 'Superman' reboot, they are also developing other high-profile projects.
One such project is the upcoming series 'Lanterns,' described as a mix of 'True Detective' with a focus on the character John Stewart, a relatively underserved Green Lantern. However, the series will also feature other Green Lanterns, including Hal Jordan, in prominent roles.
According to reports from Nexus Point News, corroborated by scooper Jeff Sneider and /Film sources, Gunn and Safran have extended a formal offer to actor Josh Brolin to portray Hal Jordan.
Josh Brolin, known for playing Thanos in the MCU, has been offered the role of Green Lantern Hal Jordan in DC Studios' 'LANTERNS'.

Brolin, well-known for his roles as Thanos in 'Avengers: Infinity War' and 'Endgame,' as well as Cable in 'Deadpool 2,' is no stranger to the comic book world. However, it's still uncertain if Brolin will accept the offer.
The series is expected to feature a Riggs/Murtaugh dynamic between John Stewart and Hal Jordan.
