Pakistan seeks to strengthen ties with China in AI, tech, and agriculture

During a meeting with Ambassador Jiang Zaidong, PM Shehbaz highlights enduring friendship between Pakistan and China

ISLAMABAD:

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on Monday that Pakistan is looking to enhance its cooperation with China in key areas, including information technology, artificial intelligence, and modern agriculture.

During a meeting with Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong, Sharif highlighted the enduring friendship between Pakistan and China.

"The friendship between Pakistan and China has withstood the test of time, with China providing unwavering support to Pakistan during every challenging period," he said.

The prime minister commended the Chinese leadership's vision for consistently strengthening Pakistan-China strategic relations and upgrading the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

"The friendship between Pakistan and China is essential not only for our two nations but also for regional and global peace and development," Sharif added.

The meeting was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Fatemi, and other senior officials.
