Jessica Alba recently shared a heartwarming video revealing her surprise for her parents: the renovation of her father's childhood home. The emotional moment was featured on her YouTube channel, where Alba, 43, detailed her decision to buy and renovate the house that had sentimental value for her family.
In the video, posted on August 30, Alba explained that she had been working on the project for nearly three years. “Almost three years ago, I started the project of my dreams… I surprised my parents by buying them a house!! 🤩🏠🎉🎁 Now, it wasn’t just any house — it was extra sentimental as it was my grandfather’s house that my father grew up in 🥹,” Alba wrote in the video’s description.
The actress revealed that after her grandfather's passing, her parents had planned to sell the house to cover her grandmother’s medical expenses. Alba, however, decided to secretly purchase and renovate it. "After my grandfather passed away, my parents were planning on selling the house in order to pay for my grandmother’s medical bills," she said.
The video shows Alba revealing her plan to her parents, Mark and Catherine, in a segment recorded in June 2021. The couple’s reaction was emotional, with Mark expressing pride and gratitude, saying, “I know he'd be really proud of my baby girl.”
Alba, who co-hosts the Roku Original series Honest Renovations with Lizzy Mathis, concluded the video by thanking those who helped make the renovation possible. "Grampers, this one is for you — we love and miss you more than you know 🫶🏽❤️," she added.
