Trump threatens Zuckerberg with life imprisonment in new book

Former US president warns Zuckerberg and others who "cheat" in the upcoming election will face severe consequences.

Former President Donald Trump has issued a stark warning to Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg in his forthcoming book, Save America.

Trump claims that Zuckerberg could face life in prison if his company interferes in the 2024 US presidential election.

Trump has repeatedly alleged that Zuckerberg played a role in swaying the 2020 election in favour of then-candidate Joe Biden, though he has provided no evidence to support these claims.

In the book, which is set to be released on September 3, Trump asserts that Zuckerberg and others who "cheat" in the upcoming election will face severe consequences.

An excerpt obtained by Politico reveals Trump's strong stance: "We are watching him closely, and if he does anything illegal this time he will spend the rest of his life in prison — as will others who cheat in the 2024 Presidential Election."

Save America is being published by Winning Team Publishing and will retail for $99. Signed copies will be available for $499. The book also features an undated photograph of Zuckerberg visiting the White House during Trump's presidency.

The caption accompanying the photo suggests that Zuckerberg was plotting against Trump while maintaining a friendly demeanor during his visits.

Zuckerberg has recently made headlines for expressing regret over yielding to pressure from the White House to censor COVID-19 content on Facebook and Instagram.

In a letter to the US House of Representatives judiciary committee, Zuckerberg stated that senior Biden administration officials repeatedly pressured Meta to censor specific content, including humor and satire, related to COVID-19.

As Trump prepares for a potential rematch against Vice President Kamala Harris in the upcoming election, his book sets the tone for a combative campaign.

President Joe Biden has withdrawn from the race amid growing pressure from within his party, leaving Harris as the Democratic candidate.
