Charli XCX joins Olivia Wilde in the erotic thriller
Charli XCX has been cast in the upcoming erotic thriller 'I Want Your Sex,' directed by Gregg Araki and penned by Araki along with Karley Sciortino. The film, which is set to begin production in October in Los Angeles, will also feature Olivia Wilde and Cooper Hoffman, with Wilde portraying a provocative artist who takes Hoffman's character under her wing.
The film is described as a descent into a world filled with sex, obsession, power, betrayal, and murder, all delivered with an irreverent tone. Details of Charli XCX’s role are currently kept under wraps, adding an element of mystery to her involvement. This marks the singer’s second significant film role, following her casting in Daniel Goldhaber’s remake of 'Faces of Death.'
Produced by Seth Caplan, along with Araki, Sciortino, and Teddy Schwarzman of Black Bear, 'I Want Your Sex' is financed by the indie label, which will also handle international rights. Executive producers include John Friedberg, Joanne Roberts Wiles, and Courtney L. Cunniff of Black Bear, with Michael Heimler also producing. CAA Media Finance will oversee domestic sales, while Arlie Day and Mike Page are on board as associate producers and casting directors.
The film aims to challenge and upend conventional expectations of erotic thrillers, featuring a narrative that explores the limits of personal and artistic boundaries in a uniquely humorous and shocking manner. This project promises to blend high-stakes drama with the darkly comedic elements that Araki is known for, set against the backdrop of the modern art world
