According to airport sources, a Qatar Airlways flight QR 932, en route from Qatar to the Philippines, experienced engine failure and made an emergency landing at Karachi's Jinnah Airport.
The aircraft, a Dreamliner, encountered severe issues at an altitude of 39,000 feet.
The pilot issued a mayday call and requested immediate permission for an emergency landing in Karachi. The Boeing 787 Dreamliner safely landed at Karachi's Jinnah Airport.
The 187 passengers aboard have been moved to the lounge for inspection. The aircraft remained at Karachi Airport, with passengers waiting for their onward travel arrangements.
Earlier, an Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 737 cargo plane, flight ET 3644, was en route from Addis Ababa to Ahmedabad when it was unable to land at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in India.
The aircraft was instructed to initiate a go-around by Ahmedabad's Air Traffic Control (ATC) and subsequently diverted to Karachi.
After a flight of over an hour, the Ethiopian cargo plane landed safely at Jinnah International Airport. The aircraft later departed for Ahmedabad from Karachi.
