Artem Chigvintsev, a former Dancing With the Stars professional dancer, has been arrested for domestic violence and charged with a felony. The 42-year-old was taken into custody on August 29 in Yountville, California, after a 911 call was made before 10am.

According to the Napa County Sheriff's public information officer, Henry Wofford, Chigvintsev was arrested on felony domestic violence charges after police received a 911 call. Wofford stated that when someone is charged with felony domestic violence, it usually means there is a visible injury or credible eyewitness.

Chigvintsev was taken to the Napa County Department of Correction and released on a $25,000 bail after 2pm. The dancer has not spoken out publicly on his arrest, and his representatives have not commented on the case.

The victim's name, gender, and age are not being released due to laws protecting the privacy of victims of domestic violence. Additionally, the location of the alleged incident is not being disclosed due to privacy requests from the victim.

Chigvintsev was charged under California Penal Code 273.5(a), relating to injuring a spouse or cohabitant. He is scheduled to appear in court on the charges.

The arrest comes just three days after Chigvintsev shared a social media tribute to his wife, Nikki Garcia, to mark their second wedding anniversary. The couple has a 4-year-old son together.
