The Inbetweeners Movie 3: Cast updates and potential sequel details

Joe Thomas hints at the possibility of The Inbetweeners Movie 3, with the cast open to making another film.

Fans of The Inbetweeners may have reason to rejoice, as actor Joe Thomas, who played Simon Cooper in the popular Channel 4 sitcom and its two film adaptations, has hinted at the possibility of a third movie. Speaking on the Always Be Comedy podcast, Thomas confirmed that discussions about a potential sequel have taken place, and the cast remains interested. “We’re all still around, we’re all still in each other’s lives. We all still like each other,” Thomas said, adding that if the opportunity arose, they would consider doing another film.

Thomas emphasized that while a third series seems unlikely, a movie could work if the right idea comes along. “I don’t think they could do another series. You’d have to be a movie,” he explained, suggesting that a bachelor party in Las Vegas could be a possible plot. He also noted the challenges of portraying the characters as younger than they are, saying, “It would need to be about blokes... And there’s something about the adult world and how much more complicated it is than the world of adolescence.”

The original cast, including Simon Bird as Will MacKenzie, Blake Harrison as Neil Sutherland, and James Buckley as Jay Cartwright, has continued to find success in their respective careers. Bird recently starred in Channel 4’s Everyone Else Burns, while Harrison appeared in A Very English Scandal. Buckley has focused on YouTube content and starred in White Gold alongside Thomas.

Fans can still watch The Inbetweeners on Channel 4 and Amazon Prime Video while waiting for official news about the potential third movie.
