RAWALPINDI:

The start of the second Test match between Pakistan and Bangladesh, set to begin today at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, has been called off due to rain.

Earlier the toss for the match was delayed due to rain and poor weather conditions. Later play for the Day one of the match was called off due to rain.

Pakistan, having suffered a historic defeat to Bangladesh in the first Test, will be eager to level the series in Rawalpindi, but the weather could pose a significant challenge.

Following Pakistan's historic defeat to Bangladesh in the first Test, several of the team's strategies have come under intense scrutiny.

The decision to opt for an all-pace attack, the timing of their declaration, and a disappointing second-innings batting performance have all been questioned.

Pakistan will aim to rebound in the second Test after facing their first-ever loss to Bangladesh in the opening match of the two-Test series.

What seemed to be a match destined for a draw took a dramatic turn as Pakistan’s batting order crumbled against Bangladesh’s spinners on the final day, managing only 146 runs.

This left Bangladesh with a modest target of 30, which their openers chased down with ease, securing a historic victory over Pakistan.

Fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi has been dropped from the squad with Mir Hamza being included as his replacement.
