RAWALPINDI:

Under the relief package announced by the Punjab Government, 1.1 million domestic consumers of Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) received Rs14 per unit relief.

During the ongoing phase, relief will provided to consumers who used 201 to 500 electricity units in August.

As the bills for the first to fifth batch customers are finished printing, they are set to receive the relief package by next month.

Around 1.1 million domestic customers out of 3 million domestic customers have started getting relief in their bills from August and will continue to get it throughout September under the relief package.

In a promotional bid, details of the amount paid by the government have also been mentioned along with the remaining amount to be paid by consumers.

The concession given by the Punjab chief minister and the figures of the total bill are also written on the right corner of the bill, while a coloured advertisement of the same size as the bill has also been released, with a picture of Maryam Nawaz, referring to the concession given in electricity bills.

The ad will be delivered to the homes of 1.1 million customers along with their bills. It should be noted that IESCO will be paid Rs9 billion for giving a discount of Rs14 per unit for two months to the 1.1 million customers of Rawalpindi Division, however, the taxes on each bill have been fully maintained.

Taxes were initially proposed to be included in the discount, but the FBR did not agree to it.
