Three killed, four injured in Okara roof collapse

The roof of a house collapsed resulting in the deaths of three people, including two children, and four others being critically injured in Okara. The victims included a mother and her two children.

The roof of a labourer's house suddenly fell due to heavy rain in the village of Akbar Road Chak Bambbi in Okara.

The collapse trapped 30-year-old Iqra and her four-year-old son Ayan, under the debris, killing them on the spot.

Five other people were injured and a 6-year-old boy Saeed succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. Upon receiving the accident report, rescue motorcycle services, two ambulances and a rescue vehicle arrived at the scene.

The rescue teams provided first aid to the injured and then transported them to DHQ Hospital.

The bodies of the deceased were handed over to their relatives after legal formalities.

Four members of the family are still receiving treatment at the hospital, where doctors and paramedics are providing all possible medical care.

Deputy Commissioner Okara Farukh Atique took notice of the incident and directed the MS DHQ to ensure the injured received the best medical care.

He emphasised that no negligence would be tolerated in the treatment of the injured.

The DC also instructed Health CEO Saifullah to visit the DHQ immediately upon receiving the news.
