Simone Biles and Gabby Thomas celebrated with Caitlin Clark after her record-setting night.

Caitlin Clark continues to make waves in the WNBA, and this time, she had Olympic legends Simone Biles and Gabby Thomas cheering her on from the sidelines. On Wednesday, August 28, the 22-year-old basketball sensation broke the WNBA rookie 3-point record during the Indiana Fever’s thrilling 84-80 victory over the Connecticut Sun at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

Clark’s historic moment came early in the game when she nailed her 86th 3-pointer of the season, surpassing the previous record held by Rhyne Howard. The young star finished the game with an impressive stat line of 19 points, five rebounds, and five assists.

After the game, Clark and her teammates had the chance to meet Biles, 27, and Thomas, 27, who greeted them with excitement and admiration. The Fever shared a heartwarming video of the encounter on social media, captioned, "The squad was ecstatic to meet Simone Biles and Gabby Thomas after our win at @GainbridgeFH. The reactions."

Biles, who was attending her first WNBA game, couldn’t hide her joy after meeting the team. “They were so excited. Oh my god. It’s like usually the boys will just pass and be like, ‘Yup.’ But they were so excited, that was so cool,” she said in a video shared on X, formerly known as Twitter. She added, "EVERYONE WATCHES WOMEN’S SPORTS  so happy to be able to go support! My first of many WNBA games."

Gabby Thomas also expressed her excitement, posting on X, "First WNBA game of many! Had so much fun supporting these stars."

With Clark setting records and inspiring fans, it’s clear that the future of women’s sports is brighter than ever.
