Alleged missing person identified as perpetrator in BLA terror attack in Balochistan
Tayyab Baloch, a person who was reported missing in April 2024, has been found involved in the recent suicide attack on an FC camp in Bela.
On the morning of August 26, an explosion took place at the gate of a security forces camp in Bela after a car collided with it.
The attack involved two suicide bombers, one of whom was Mahal Baloch, a 23-year-old woman from Surbandar, Gwadar.
The banned militant group claimed responsibility for the attack which it said had initiated with Mahal Baloch's car crash.
The incident laid bare the deceptive tactics employed by the proscribe Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) terror group when Tayyab Baloch, also known as Ilyas Lala, was indentified as an individual behind the suicide attack on an FC camp in Bela.
The BLA had previously registered an FIR declaring Tayyab Baloch as a missing person earlier in April this year, claiming he had disappeared under suspicious circumstances.
The BLA has previously used the missing persons narrative to gain political leverage, as well with several individuals listed as missing later found to have been involved in acts of terrorism.
Among these were militants like Karim Jan, son of Fazal Baloch, Imtiaz Ahmed, son of Raza Muhammad, and Abdul Wadood Satakzai, who were killed during terrorist activities.
Pakistan's Balochistan province has recently seen an uptick in violence, including target killings and militant attacks.
Meanwhile, Balochistan experienced one of its most violent days recently, with over 40 lives lost in multiple terrorist attacks across various districts.
The deadliest incident occurred in Musakhail, where 23 passengers were executed after being offloaded from a bus. In Kalat, an attack on security forces resulted in 10 deaths, including both civilians and security personnel.
In response to the attacks on innocent civilians, the military has sprung into action carrying out actions across the province to target militants and terrorists alike.
