Amandla Stenberg, star of the recently cancelled Star Wars series 'The Acolyte', has opened up about the show's demise and the hateful backlash it received.

Stenberg admitted she wasn't surprised by the cancellation on her Instagram Story, citing the "rampage of vitriol" the show faced even before its release. She described the attacks as "hyper-conservative bigotry and vitriol," targeted at the diverse cast.   

Despite anticipating such backlash, Stenberg confessed the experience was deeply affecting. She felt compelled to speak out against the hate, even within the context of working for Disney and the Star Wars franchise. Stenberg emphasized her commitment to hono

Though saddened by the cancellation, Stenberg expressed gratitude for the opportunity to be part of the Star Wars universe and for the positive response from fans who appreciated the show.   

'The Acolyte' was a mystery-thriller set in the Star Wars' High Republic era, following a former Padawan and her Jedi Master investigating a series of crimes. The show's cancellation has disappointed many, including co-star Lee Jung-jae, who praised the show's creator and expressed his eagerness for a second season.
