South Korean singer Taeil has departed from the K-pop boy band NCT following allegations of an unspecified sexual crime, as announced by his agency, SM Entertainment, on Wednesday.

The label issued a statement on X, formerly Twitter, stating that Taeil is leaving the group after being informed of the criminal accusation. The nature of the crime has not been officially disclosed.

In the aftermath of the announcement, rumors and additional details have begun circulating on social media.

Users on X are sharing screenshots of comments made by the alleged victim on Taeil's social media profile.

These comments accuse Taeil, whose real name is Moon Tae-il, of sending death threats to the victim's hospitalized mother and hacking the victim's Twitter account for the past six years.

The allegations include claims that the sexual crime occurred over six years ago when the victim was a minor and that Taeil has been hacking the victim’s phone to hide evidence.

These allegations have not been independently verified, and the police have declined to comment on the case.

In response to the scandal, several NCT members, including Johnny, Winwin, and Mark, have unfollowed Taeil’s personal Instagram account. Taeyong, the leader of NCT, was among the first to unfollow Taeil and remove photos featuring him.

As the rumors continue to spread, the situation remains under close scrutiny by fans and the media.
