Taeil, whose real name is Moon Tae-il, has been removed from the K-pop group NCT following allegations of a sexual offense, as announced by SM Entertainment on August 28. In the wake of this scandal, several NCT members have taken steps to distance themselves from Taeil.

Johnny, Winwin, and Mark, among others, have unfollowed Taeil’s personal Instagram account. Taeyong, the leader of NCT, was one of the first to respond, not only unfollowing Taeil but also removing photos featuring him, including those from Taeyong's military send-off. Following suit, Doyoung unfollowed Taeil, while Haechan and Johnny chose to unfollow his account without further deletions.

The scandal has also disrupted ongoing promotions for NCT DREAM. On the same day as Taeil’s removal, WithMUU postponed Mark and Haechan's scheduled video call event for the NCT DREAM album DREAM( )SCAPE, citing "unforeseen scheduling conflicts," likely influenced by the controversy.

As the investigation into Moon Tae-il’s alleged offenses continues, SM Entertainment has stressed that they are handling the situation with the utmost seriousness. Fans and industry observers are watching closely to see how this controversy will impact the group's future.
