Mother in India kills three-year-old daughter after being inspired by crime show

Mother admits to a two-year extramarital affair, citing her desire to marry her boyfriend as the motive for murder

A shocking incident in Muzaffarpur district of India's Bihar state has revealed the gruesome murder of a three-year-old girl, allegedly by her own mother, after being inspired by a popular crime television show.

The child's body was discovered in a suitcase, leading to an investigation that unearthed disturbing details.

The three-year-old, identified as Mithi, was found dead in a suitcase.

Police investigations traced the crime back to her mother, Kajal, who had gone missing after the incident.

Forensic teams found bloodstains on the floor, sink, and ceiling of their home, raising suspicions about Kajal's involvement.

Kajal's husband, Manoj, filed a police report after suspecting his wife, who had informed him she was visiting her aunt.

Using mobile phone location data, police tracked Kajal to her boyfriend's house, where she was arrested.

During questioning, Kajal confessed to being in an extramarital relationship for two years and wanting to marry her boyfriend.

However, her boyfriend refused to accept her daughter, leading Kajal to plan the murder after watching a crime drama.

Kajal revealed that she killed her daughter by slitting her throat and disposing of the body in a suitcase.

Police confirmed that the boyfriend did not suggest or participate in the murder, and thus, he was not detained.
