In a recent interview with PTI by Times of India, Liu addressed the status of Shang-Chi 2, stating, "A lot of it is above my pay grade, but it's definitely happening. So just very excited to kind of work on it, and it's going to be amazing." Despite keeping details under wraps, Liu’s comments have offered some much-needed reassurance to fans who feared the project might have been shelved.

Liu’s update is part of a series of teasers he’s dropped about the sequel’s place within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and potential storylines. Although specifics are scarce, Liu’s enthusiasm for returning to the role is palpable.

Reflecting on his career, Liu credited Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige for changing his life with the opportunity to play Shang-Chi. "It was like winning the lottery 10 times over," he shared in an interview referenced by Times of India.
