In a candid interview on a local morning show, Pakistani actor Sakina Samo shared her thoughts on the importance of honesty and integrity in the entertainment industry. Known for her powerful performances and directorial work, Samo didn't hold back as she discussed the challenges faced by artists in an industry often shrouded in politeness and ambiguity.

Samo began by acknowledging the universal nature of human fallibility. "We are humans, all of us make mistakes," she stated, emphasising the importance of accountability and growth. "Every now and then we slip up and say something we end up regretting because we are not angels."

The actor highlighted her willingness to take responsibility for her actions, particularly when her words might have caused unintended harm. "I don't hesitate before apologising," Samo said. "If I feel that my words have caused hurt to someone, then I apologise. It is never my intention to hurt."

She expressed pride in her ability to speak truthfully, recognising it as a rare quality in the industry. "I am proud of myself for speaking the truth very often. This is not something people are familiar with," she remarked. "Most tend to avoid the truth. Some simply do not possess the courage to speak the truth, others may be too polite."

Samo's frankness has not come without consequences. She revealed that her outspoken nature has impacted her career opportunities. "This is why I have done relatively few dramas," she explained. "Even directorial projects fizzle out."

The actor went on to criticise the lack of professionalism and communication in the industry. She described instances where projects moved forward without proper follow-up, leaving her confused and hurt. "They get into contact, check availability. Next thing I know the drama is on air," Samo shared. "I am left feeling baffled, 'Did they not check my availability for this?'"

Samo stressed the importance of clear communication and respect for all involved in a production. "They should at least let the people they approach know that it's not gonna work out," she advised. She warned that such unprofessional practices can have lasting negative effects on projects, stating, "These things hurt and subsequently, it's hard for such projects to be successful when they are premised on ill intentions."

As the interview concluded, Samo offered a final piece of advice to industry professionals: "Just let people know that we have someone else for this job instead of causing hurt and having that shadow the whole project."
