CM orders Himmat card payments

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has ordered payment of financial aid to differently-abled citizens through the Himat cards by September 15.
She was addressing a ceremony in which a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between the social welfare department and the Bank of Punjab for the issuance of the Himmat ATM cards to 65,000 differently-abled people across Punjab, through which Rs10,500 will be paid to each recipients every quarter.
The chief minister said, "The care of deserving special persons is the responsibility of the state."
She was informed that the cards will be issued to 40,000 people In Phase-I and 25,000 more in Phase-II.
A 30 per cent quota has been reserved for women in the issuance of the Himmat card to deserving special persons and a dedicated helpline 1312 has been set up for to assist them.
The MoU was signed by Social Welfare Secretary Javed Akhtar Mahmood and Bank of Punjab President Zafar Masood.
Provincial Social Welfare Minister Sohail Shaukat Butt, MPA Sania Ashiq, Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman, Planning and Development Chairman Nabil Awan, Social Welfare Director General Amna Munir and other relevant officers were present on the occasion.
