ISLAMABAD:

Senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Azam Swati said on Monday whoever facilitated him for his meeting with party founder Imran Khan in Adiala Jail last week, was a "positive move" to save the system in the country.

Talking to the media outside the Supreme Court, Swati stressed that the party, however, was not under any illusion that it could get any relief in lieu of cancelling the party rally in Tarnol, which was scheduled for August 22.

On Thursday morning, Swati along with PTI Chairman Gohar Ali Khan, had a meeting with the party founder in Adiala Jail. Afterwards, Swati and Gohar announced the postponement of the Islamabad rally and rescheduled for September 8.

"It was a positive act to save the system of Pakistan. We are not under the impression that cancelling the jalsa will give us any relief. We want to uphold the Constitution and the law," Swati said. "Khan will bear the hardships of jail, we don't want any concession," he added.
