Joe Alwyn revealed a surprising detail about his time on set with Emma Stone in a recent video shared exclusively with PEOPLE. The British actor, who stars alongside Stone in Yorgos Lanthimos's latest film Kinds of Kindness, disclosed that he was entrusted to cut Stone’s hair during the production. “I cut her hair, which just means cutting off her ponytail, but even so!” Alwyn said with a smile, adding that the experience could have gone wrong. Fellow cast member Mamoudou Athie responded, "Still! That could go bad."

The video, released ahead of the film’s digital release on August 27, also features other cast members, including Jesse Plemons, Willem Dafoe, and Margaret Qualley, discussing their experiences on set. Plemons described the atmosphere on set as surprisingly light, despite the film's dark themes, comparing it to a "weird summer camp."

Kinds of Kindness, directed by Lanthimos, tells three distinct stories: one about a man trying to take control of his life, another about a policeman dealing with his wife’s mysterious return, and a third about a woman searching for a spiritual leader. The film, which also stars Hong Chau and Hunter Schafer, marks another collaboration between Stone and Alwyn, who previously worked together on Lanthimos’s 2018 film The Favourite.

Stone praised Alwyn in the film’s production notes, saying, “I love Joe. We had to do some pretty dark stuff on this one, so it was extremely comforting to be with him because he’s one of the sweetest people you’ll ever meet.”

Kinds of Kindness will be available on Blu-ray and DVD starting October 8.
