Spider-Man 4 is another multiverse movie: Daredevil and Ant-Man rumored to make appearances
Following the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Tom Holland's new Spider-Man film will continue exploring the multiverse theme.
Scheduled for release in July 2026, the movie will premiere between Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.
Insider Daniel Richtman has confirmed in his latest Patreon update that Spider-Man 4 will begin filming next year and is set for a July 2026 release. Richtman noted, "As expected, Spider-Man 4 will now film next year and is slated to release in July 2026, between Doomsday and Secret Wars, meaning that yes, this is very likely going to be another multiverse movie."
According to a rumor from Alex Perez of The Cosmic Circus, Peter Parker will grapple with the trauma from his past in Spider-Man 4. He’ll be depicted as struggling with PTSD, sleepless nights, and using his role as Spider-Man to manage his emotional pain. Perez described it as "trauma, PTSD, and a whole lot of nightmares. Lots of stressful nights and being unable to sleep, using Spider-Man as a coping mechanism so he doesn’t have to deal with the nightmares of his past."
The film is expected to feature new variants of Doctor Octopus and Green Goblin, influenced by the multiverse chaos seen in No Way Home. There are also indications that the movie might involve a “street-level civil war,” with possible appearances by Kate Bishop, Echo, and Jessica Jones. Additionally, Charlie Cox’s Daredevil and Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man are rumored to make appearances, with Ant-Man reportedly having a “significant role” in the film.
Tom Holland will reprise his role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man. Sony is reportedly working to bring back Zendaya, though Jacob Batalon’s Ned Leeds will not return. The film’s script will be penned by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, who previously worked on other MCU Spider-Man films.
