Quentin Tarantino has made some controversial claims about the shooting on the set of "Rust" that resulted in the death of Halyna Hutchins. In a recent episode of his "Club Random" podcast with Bill Maher, Tarantino said that while Alec Baldwin is not completely responsible for Hutchins' death, he is partially to blame. Tarantino also placed blame on the armorer, Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, saying that she is 90% responsible for the tragedy.

Tarantino's comments have sparked outrage, with many criticizing his suggestion that actors should check their weapons before using them in a scene. SAG-AFTRA, the union representing working actors, has previously stated that it is not an actor's responsibility to check weapons before scenes, disagreeing with Tarantino's stance.

The controversy surrounding the "Rust" shooting has been ongoing for months, with Baldwin facing manslaughter charges for his role in Hutchins' death. However, in July, a judge dismissed the charges after it was revealed that prosecutors had placed evidence in an improper file, effectively hiding it from Baldwin's legal team.

Baldwin has since filed a lawsuit against the Special Prosecutor Kari Morrissey and the Santa Fe County Sheriff Adan Mendoza. Tarantino's comments have added fuel to the fire, with many calling for him to apologize for his insensitive remarks.
