Amazon employee earns huge paycheck for doing almost 'nothing'
An Amazon employee has revealed that he earned approximately $370,000 despite doing minimal work since joining the company.
The senior technical program manager, who had previously been laid off from Google, shared his experience on Blind, an anonymous professional community platform.
In his post, the employee admitted to joining Amazon with the intention of doing "nothing" while collecting a substantial salary.
He claimed to have spent only about eight hours per week at work, mostly attending meetings.
During his 1.5 years at Amazon, he managed to resolve just seven tickets and deliver one automated dashboard, which he said took three days to build using ChatGPT but pretended it required three months.
The post quickly gained traction online, attracting a wide range of reactions.
Some criticised the employee’s approach, while others found it appealing.
The viral post has sparked discussions about work efficiency, compensation, and corporate culture, with many debating the merits of working less while still receiving a significant salary.
