New NA sessionkicks off today

The National Assembly Secretariat has issued a 23-point agenda for a session of the lower house that will commence today (Monday) at 5pm.

According to the agenda, Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi will present Islamabad Local Government (Amendment) Bill ,2024 for approval in the assembly.

The agenda also includes the report of the standing committee on the law to prevent electronic crimes.

The report of the standing committee on the establishment of the Telecommunications Appellate Tribunal Bill, 2024 will be presented in the session.Committee Chairman Aminul Haq will present the report.

The National Assembly speaker, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, on Saturday issued a production order for a PTI backed lawmaker, Haji Imtiaz Ahmed, who is currently detained in connection with a corruption case.

The speaker directed the Punjab Police to bring Ahmed to the assembly session, commencing from today. Imtiaz Ahmed is to be handed over to the Sergeant-at-Arms in the assembly.

The speaker considers Ahmed's attendance at the assembly session mandatory, said the production order.
