Cop injured in rocket attack shifted to city
A police constable severely injured in a rocket attack in the Kacha Machhka area of Rahim Yar Khan has been shifted to the Punjab Institute of Neurosciences in Lahore by an air ambulance on the instructions of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. Constable Bilal Javed had been undergoing treatment at the Sheikh Zayed Hospital.
The chief minister stated, "The constables injured in the Katcha area are our heroes. We will completely support them till their complete rehabilitation." The policeman had suffered spinal injuries in the attack.
The Punjab government will bear his treatment expenses. According to reports, four police officials injured in the rocket attack have been discharged from the Sheikh Zayed Hospital after recovering.
Eight officials injured in the attack that took place four days ago had been admitted to the hospital in Rahim Yar Khan. Police officials Saeed Ahmed, Muhammad Ayub, Nabeel and Farooq have been released from the hospital, while Wasim, Zahid and Yusuf are undergoing treatment.
Punjab Specialised Healthcare Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique visited Constable Bilal in the Punjab Institute of Neurosciences.
He said a team of senior doctors was treating the policeman. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz had also visited Sheikh Zayed Hospital and met the injured personnel a day earlier.
