Landlord, son arrested following fatal dispute with tenant in Karachi's Gulshan-e-Iqbal
A tenant was killed after an altercation with his landlord and the landlord’s son, in Karachi's Gulshan-e-Iqbal area on Sunday.
According to details, the incident occurred at House No. A-86 in Block 13B of Gulshan-e-Iqbal, within the jurisdiction of Aziz Bhatti Police Station, where a man was killed during a dispute.
Upon receiving information, the police arrived at the scene and transported the deceased’s body to Jinnah Hospital for legal procedures. The deceased was identified as 45-year-old Asif.
SHO Aziz Bhatti, Shahzad Ilyas, informed Express that a dispute erupted between the landlord, Meraj Ahmed Sheikh, son of Allah Wale, and the tenant, Asif, which led to Asif’s death due to violence allegedly inflicted by the landlord and his son, Muhammad Shafi, son of Meraj Anwar Sheikh.
The police arrested both the landlord and his son on the spot and took them into custody.
The conflict between the landlord and the tenant arose over the evacuation of the house, which the tenant was supposed to vacate on Sunday.
However, when the tenant failed to do so, a dispute occurred, during which the landlord and his son physically assaulted the tenant, resulting in his death.
The SHO stated that further legal action is being taken against the arrested landlord and his son.
