Ben Affleck spotted with kids from ex-wife Jennifer Garner as Jennifer Lopez files for divorce

Ben Affleck was seen in high spirits as he took his two youngest children, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12, out for ice cream in Los Angeles on Friday night.

The actor, known for “Good Will Hunting,” looked neat in khakis and a green button-down shirt, complemented by black and white Nike sneakers.

His children, whom he shares with ex-wife Jennifer Garner, were dressed more casually.

Seraphina wore cargo shorts and a large gray sweater with “Farm Camp” printed on it in green, while Samuel was in gray sweatpants and a blue graphic tee.

Affleck’s cheerful outing was a stark contrast to his more somber appearance the previous evening, when he was seen taking Seraphina to the movies with friends and appeared somewhat distracted, frequently checking his phone.

Both of these Los Angeles outings occurred after his estranged wife, Jennifer Lopez, filed for divorce on the second anniversary of their wedding in Georgia.

According to a source, Lopez filed on their anniversary to assert herself after her efforts to save the marriage were ignored by Affleck.

“[Lopez] gave this everything she had; her whole heart,” a person close to the singer told Page Six Saturday. “She would have done anything to make this work.”

The source added, “She opened herself up to criticism, ridicule and countless naysayers who told her this was a bad idea, that it was doomed, that there was a reason it didn’t work the first time.”

In May, Page Six learned that Affleck had decided to end the marriage, feeling he had finally “come to his senses” and believed their relationship was destined to fail.
