SHC seeks progress report in missing teenager case

.

KARACHI:

A two-judge bench of the Sindh High Court (SHC), headed by Justice Nimatullah Phulpoto, on Saturday summoned a progress report within three weeks regarding the case of a missing teenager.

The bench was hearing a petition filed by the boy's father, who stated that his 13-year-old son Tariq Khan has been missing from Awami Colony for the past three weeks. The bench expressed frustration with the investigating officer (IO), asking him about the measures taken to locate the missing teenager.

The IO assured the bench that efforts are ongoing to recover Tariq. However, the judges remarked that a child of this age should not have any criminal record and that all possible actions must be taken to locate him as soon as possible.

The judges warned that failure to comply with its orders could result in legal action against the IO. The bench adjourned the hearing until September 11, directing the IO to furnish a detailed progress report by then.
