Drake surprise-drops 'Circadian Rhythm,' 'SOD,' and 'No Face' featuring Playboi Carti on Instagram

Just before the weekend, Drake caught fans off guard by dropping three new tracks—“Circadian Rhythm,” “SOD,” and “No Face” featuring Playboi Carti—via his Instagram burner account @plottttwistttttt. 

One of the tracks, “SOD,” previously known as “Supersoak,” had already stirred controversy when streamer Kai Cenat premiered it last month. 

Originally featuring a verse from Lil Yachty, the track faced complications when a sample from Mr. HotSpot was denied clearance unless a clean version was made due to religious beliefs. 

As a result, Yachty was entirely removed from the track for its official release. 

Speculation about tension between Drake and Yachty grew when fans noticed Yachty unfollowed Drake on Instagram.

Fans of the ongoing Drake and Kendrick Lamar rivalry were quick to connect “Circadian Rhythm” to Lamar’s diss track “6:16 in LA.” 

In Lamar’s track, he raps, “I live in circadian rhythms of a shooting star,” leading some to believe that Drake’s latest release is a subtle nod to their feud.

On the third track, “No Face,” Drake doesn’t hold back, taking aim at those who’ve spoken against him. 

He raps, “I’m just so happy that n—s who envied and held that shit in got to finally show it / I’m over the moon, yeah, we’ll see you boys soon.”

These three tracks come just weeks after Drake dropped a massive folder on 100gigs.org, filled with unreleased music, behind-the-scenes footage, tour set designs, and studio clips. 

That drop included another trio of tracks—“It’s Up” featuring Young Thug and 21 Savage, “Blue Green Red,” and “Housekeeping Knows” featuring Latto—which were also teased on his Instagram burner before their official release on streaming platforms.
