US Open tennis: Aisam-Bopanna crash in the semis
Qureshi-Bopanna reached semi-finals after beating Colin Fleming and Ross Hutchins of Great Britain.
KARACHI:
Pakistan’s Aisam ul Haq Qureshi and India’s Rohan Bopanna lost the US Open semi-finals to the Polish pair of Mariusz Fyrstenberg and Marcin Matkowski 6-2, 7-6.
Earlier, Qureshi-Bopanna reached the semi-finals after beating Colin Fleming and Ross Hutchins of Great Britain 7-5, 2-5, 7-5. The fifth-seeded pair endured a wearisome quarter-final, which was delayed due to rain, and took the first set in 45 minutes but the British duo dictated the second set and made sure it was a hard-fought victory for the Indo-Pak Express.
