TANDO ADAM:

More than 15,000 acres of agricultural land and 40 villages, which were flooded after a breach in Rohri Canal near Goth Alam Dero, remain under water despite the passage of two weeks.

The contractor responsible for supplying diesel to the drainage machinery has stopped the supply due to an outstanding bill exceeding Rs10 million. This disruption has effectively brought the drainage operations to a standstill. Moreover, the oil company that was providing food aid to the affected populations has also halted its relief operations. Shaheed Benazirabad Commissioner Sajjad Haider visited the affected area and assured Rs20 million would be used to assist those affected.
