Minister urges timely payment of salary and pension
Sindh Local Government Minister Saeed Ghani has announced that public facilities are being enhanced in all towns and union councils of the metropolitan city on the directives of PPP Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
In a meeting with the chairmen of 13 towns from PPP, Ghani stressed the importance of timely salary and pension payments for employees of the municipal corporation, municipal committees, towns, and union committees. This initiative is supported through Octroi Zila Tax (OZT) shares, as per Bilawal's instructions.
The meeting also attended by PPP Sindh General Secretary Waqar Mehdi, City Mayor Murtaza Wahab, and Advisor to Chief Minister Najmi Alam.
Ghani instructed town chairmen to maintain regular communication with their vice chairmen and councillors, ensuring timely action on complaints. He referred to Bilawal's focus on improving communication between the party's elected representatives and its organisation to better serve Karachiites.
Mayor Wahab announced that forthcoming meetings will aim to strengthen coordination between Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) and the town administrations, with the goal of addressing and resolving issues effectively. He also assured that key institutions, including the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board and Sindh Solid Waste Management, will be involved in efforts to restore Karachi's status as a vibrant and problem-free city.
