Four die of suspected food poisoning

Four car occupants including a minor child died sometime after they were found unconscious in a car near Bhera Interchange on Motorway 2 (M-2), the National Highway and Motorway Police (NHMP) said on Friday.

A patrolling police team received a call that a Honda car was parked alongside the road.

Upon approaching the car to offer assistance, the officials found five individuals in a state of unconsciousness and immediately shifted them to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Bhera for medical treatment.

During the treatment, four people lost their lives while the fifth was still unconscious. According to doctors, the cause of death could be food poisoning.

The deceased were identified as Romila, 60, Mahwish, 30, Samar, 28, and Aun, 4.

The travellers were residents of Lahore and were going to Islamabad from Lahore.
