MoUs worth $25m signed at pharma expo

Pharma Asia 2024, held from August 20 to 22, attracted over 200 leading companies

The 21st Pharma Asia Exhibition, the region's premier pharmaceutical industry event, concluded at the Karachi Expo Centre on Thursday.

Organised by E-commerce Gateway, the three-day exhibition saw the presence of Deputy Mayor Karachi Salman Abdullah Murad, as the chief guest, underscoring the event's importance in advancing Pakistan's pharmaceutical sector.

Pharma Asia 2024, held from August 20 to 22, attracted over 200 leading companies and showcased cutting-edge technologies and innovations across more than 750 booths.

Delegates and exhibitors from 15 countries, with a notable pavilion from China, highlighted the international scope and relevance of the exhibition.

A key highlight was the signing of memoranda of understanding (MoUs) worth $25 million, which reflected strong business prospects and investment opportunities within the pharmaceutical industry.

"These agreements are expected to further catalyse growth and development in the sector, reinforcing the country's position as an emerging hub for pharmaceutical innovation," said a statement.

Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Mayor Karachi Salman Abdullah Murad emphasised the crucial role the exhibition played in driving the pharmaceutical industry forward. "Pharma Asia 2024 has set a new benchmark for industry collaboration and innovation as well as demonstrated the tremendous potential and resilience of Pakistan's pharmaceutical sector," he remarked.
